Building Our Future Together

President Ron K. Patterson’s Listening Tour

During his first year as President of Chadron State College, Dr. Patterson plans to engage with as many stakeholders as he can to learn more about what the college is doing well and where the areas for improvement may be located.

“We live in a period of possibility. I truly believe Chadron State College stands at the threshold of an exciting new era of its second century of providing a first-class, first-choice student experience focused on students, teaching, scholarship, and service.”

President Patterson’s Initial Focus Areas

  • Preserving the rich, historic legacy of Chadron State College
  • Continuing to build academic innovation and excellence
  • Fulfilling the mission and build brand identity
  • Advancing student success and career attainment
  • Meeting the workforce needs for Nebraska and strengthening our rural communities
  • Integrating technology to advance student success, degree completion, and build a culture of data-driven assessment and accountability
  • Engaging the city of Chadron, community leaders, and businesses to join and supporting Chancellor Paul Turman, as well as our sister institutions of Peru State College and Wayne State College in efforts to secure funding for the Nebraska State College System
  • Establish new partnerships at the local, regional, national, and global levels
  • Continue to embrace and cultivate a campus environment that values diversity and inclusion in its broadest form and fostering respect for all.
